Rum? Yes, rum! Blame it on Paul, his Puerto Rico is showing. Paul told me about this rum from his time in PR and I said “well let’s get some.” So I bought the baseline 2 star and it was good but Paul said “you know, they make a 3 star?” So I special ordered rum, yes rum. So, we tried the 3 star last Christmas, “you know, they make a 5 star,” Paul said suggestively. So I am writing today’s notes not knowing if I will actually be able to pull off this elusive 5 star edition, but I will try.

So if you're reading this then yes I have pulled it off. I now have a rum guy. Aged for a whopping 35 years in sherry oloroso cask, this glass should be teaming with fruit notes and cane sugar. I am not much of a rum kind of guy but I enjoy just about anything with alcohol in it and can truly appreciate the art that comes with 140 years of rum making in PR.

My goal for my whiskey collection/bar was to always have the favorite drinks of family and friends. If you can’t find it at the store give me a call and I am sure I can hunt it down for you. I want you to be able to walk into my bar and pick anything and everything and no matter if it’s unopened or almost gone let’s share a pour together and tell tales of how we tracked down that hard to find spirit and share stories of adventures long gone.
