EH Taylor is one of my favorite brands of whiskies. Distilled in Kentucky and sought after by all walks of life, this straight rye is a great example of what rye whiskey should be. Bourbon is made with at least 51% corn. Rye whiskey is made with at least 51% rye grain but usually much more than that. Rye whiskey does not have those sweet notes of bourbon, but instead spices may be liquorish, a lot of people get that note. To me, either you like rye or you don't, it's as simple as that. I would go for a pour when everything else isn’t quite quitting me right that night.

This particular whiskey sits at the perfect proof of 50%, half water half alcohol, need I say more. I have only seen two bottles on this out in the wild and I’m glad I grabbed this one when I did. Truly something the average drinker may never experience without shelling out big money on the black market (secondary). I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Whiskey is only as good as the people you share it with and this is a prime example of a bottle that can elevate to another level with good company. Cheers
